With the success of BTC, a lot of new crypto coins are out in the market, my question is if I have other Cryptos where will I spend it?

There's a lot of talk about cryptocurrencies but one thing I can't understand with the new cryptocurrencies is how do you actually convert it into dollars or money? This question might be silly but if you have other cryptocurrencies how would you spend it? I would really like to learn more about the basics of cryptocurrencies can someone give me a good resource?

I'm from the Philippines and this is the first time I've heard of this news that there's a Korean cryptocurrency exchange that would be launched here. But considering that our government only recognizes BTC, and are against new cryptocurrencies because of a number of cases in which new cryptocurrencies companies launched their coins without proper government approval and license. I really don't think that Korean company can open up here though.
