Kakashi2020
A friend has an interesting notion, what if Facebook which is the biggest social media platform in the world with more than a billion active users launches it's own currency? Would it overshadow Bitcoin?
Steve5
Now that's a scary yet interesting thought. I'd think that by now they would have done so. I guess they're more focused on other stuff. Besides, they're already making millions of dollars from their ad revenue alone. If they did come up with a cryptocurrency, it's likely to rival even bitcoin. 😂

I think Zuckerberg should do it, a Facebook currency would be a very good step forward.

I'm a bit worried about the possibility of a cashless society. If that were to happen, it would end up making things harder for the less fortunate. I've watched Black Mirror and I can see how that could possibly be used for nefarious purposes. 😅
focusedwriter10
I am sure that if Facebook can develop its coin, then it can overshadow Bitcoin. The popularity and trust of Facebook around the world can easily help Zuckerberg when it comes to marketing.

They already have something in the form of Facebook credits. I remember back then how useful it was for famous Facebook games. If they could do that with cryptocurrency, they'd dominate it for sure. 😃

Recently, I realized you can send money through Facebook Messenger. Maybe they are just testing, then from there see the way forward. Messenger is like their way of testing the waters for new inventions. I'm sure we'll just find out that we can now do online transactions using something Facebook made. I wonder how Paypal will react to that.
emiaj55
I think that if adapting to block chain would help Facebook secure personal information that has been to many legal issues over the years then creating their own cryptocurrency would definitely be a good idea. After all, they have a large market that would more or less support it if they do.
JPK0007
Well, i think that if a big Social Media Platform like Facebook enters the Cryptocurrency market then it will definitely give the much needed boost to all the Cryptocurrencies around the World. If Facebook introduces its own coin then it will become very succesful and eventually beat all its competition. However, i dont think that such a thing will happen in the nera future. Caguioa747
If that happens it would be I think a positive thing for like us in the cryptocurrency world. not only facebook will benefit if that happens because people will be now more aware about cryptocurrency and if that happens I think people will invest more not just on facebook but also on bitcoin and other altcoins.
